Being on the water at night is a thrilling experience. However obtaining night hours can be difficult if you do not own a boat or you do not feel you are experienced enough to try on your own.
This afternoon/evening course is designed to give you experience of helming and navigating a powerboat at night. The course starts with a planning session in the classroom where you will compile a pilotage plan and help plan an high speed coastal passage. You will leave the marina at dusk and pilot you way down the River Orwell to Harwich harbour where you will experience the magnificent sight of Felixstowe at night as we nestle in amongst some of the largest ships in the world. After a high speed coastal passage outside the harbour we will take abreak ashore to have dinner then pilot our way back to the Marina.
The course is designed to appeal to Powerboaters that have taken their Level 2 course but would like to obtain additional experience and log miles. Whether you want to enjoy being at sea at night out of curiosity or because you require the experience as a pre-requisite to an RYA course, we guarantee you an experience to remember.
NOTE: This is not an RYA course.
Other dates may be available subject to demand so please contact us if your

Non-marking soft soled shoes or sailing boots (sorry but Wellington or garden boots are not suitable). Wet weather gear if you have any (we can supply some if you don't). A hat or cap. It can get chilly out on the water so several layers of clothing are best rather than fewer thick layers.
