This excellent one-day course provides an introduction to Powerboating for complete beginners. If you like the idea of Powerboating but are unsure whether you will like it in practice, then this is a must do course. By the end of the course you will have experienced the joy of Powerboating and you will know whether it is something that you want to do again.
During the day you will be aboard a first class training boat. You will receive expert tuition from one of our experienced qualified RYA Instructors who is there not only to teach you but to ensure you have an enjoyable time. You will have the opportunity to practice many aspects of Powerboating including boat handling, launching and recovery and be aware of safety on board. Some of the course is taught in our classroom but the majority is spent out on the water.
When you have successfully completed the course syllabus you will receive a completion certificate. If you have enjoyed your course then you should consider enrolling on a Basic Navigation and Safety course or Powerboat level 2 course.

If this course has to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, you will be offered an alternative date. We recommend you take out holiday insurance to cover unforseen circumstanses, for example, having to cancel your course at a late date. Boating requires a degree of physical exertion so if you have any doubts concerning your fitness please make us aware. Please consult your pharmacist or doctor if you require seasickness medication. Please be aware that your instructor will need to be satisfied that you have demonstrated the appropriate level of competence before a course completion certificate will be awarded. Attending a course does not automatically result in a course completion certificate being issued. If for any reason you do not meet the required standard your instructor will provide you with an action plan identifying areas for improvement.
