This course is an introduction to GPS and chart plotters including how to use them and interpret navigational data for both sail and motor vessels. The course has been reworked for 2010 to include more hands-on sessions using real chart plotters in our classroom.
We explain GPS jargon in plain language and expose some of the myths about navigating electronically. The course includes hands-on sessions using real chart plotters where we provide detailed instruction on how to use the most common features and how to interpret the information displayed on the screen.
If you own, or are contemplating buying a GPS or chart plotter, then this is an essential course.
