This shorebased course is taught in a classroom. It is a comprehensive introduction to chartwork, navigation, meteorology and the basics of seamanship. You will find this course invaluable if you want to learn how to start making decisions on board, and if you are considering taking the Day Skipper practical course.
When you have successfully completed the two assessment papers, you will receive a completion certificate. If you have enjoyed your sailing experience then you should consider enrolling on a Day Skipper Practical course or Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore shorebased course.

Duration
Each course lasts either 5 consecutive days or 2 long weekends (09:00 to 17:30 each day)

Tuition, RYA course pack and refreshments. Please note that Lunch is not included but reasonably priced meals are available within the Marina complex.

Notepad, soft leaded pencils, pencil sharpener, rubber, Portland chart plotter and dividers.
